Participants come from all ages and backgrounds. We have participants under five and over 80. Horses don't judge. Some have never touched a horse, others may have had a bad experience on a horse and never gone back.
No matter your background, the program adjusts to where you are on a class-by-class basis. The goal is to build awareness of how you communicate and then build the skills to communicate with various horses. Participants find they are immediately more regulated, and the skills they learn translate instantly into personal relationships.
A horse's personality can challenge a participant out of their comfort zone creating lasting change. Activities are small and structured to build confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
Class Components:
Have a high conflict co-parent? Do you feel helpless when it comes to trying to make ANY decision with your co-parent? This class will provide tools and strategies to preserve your health and sanity. Learn how to get results and achieve the best outcome for your child(ren).
Grandparents and extended family are often vastly affected by divorce, co-parenting conflict, or DCS involvement. Family Law affects the WHOLE family, not just the parenting and kids. Learn how to set boundaries that hold the adults accountable and preserve your role in the child(ren)'s life. Meet other extended families who are facing similar struggles.
Co-parenting is hard enough, but when you have a child who has special needs or is struggling, small disagreements or parenting approaches often become a chasm with high court involvement and delayed intervention for the child. Two loving parents who are scared for their child can experience the most trauma. Our courses can be done individually or with your co-parent to find a path forward.
Domestic violence and Emotional Abuse are more common than you know as the victims often struggle in silence. Leaving the relationship is only part of the journey. The issue is even more difficult if you are co-parenting with your abuser. Learn techniques to set firm and effective boundaries, and assert yourself appropriately. Gain support from others who have a shared experience. Know the warning signs to break the pattern.
Have you been accused of domestic violence, been ordered to participate in a diversion program, or want strategies to stay calm under pressure? This class will provide tools to heal and rebuild trust with partners and children.
Helping families rebuild their bonds after divorce or life changes. Facilitating tough conversations, developing a shared vision of the next chapter, and fun for the new family unit.
Learn new communication tools, network with peers who face similar challenges, and develop coping skills for the vicarious trauma that comes from working with people and children in crisis.
An age appropriate program for children dealing with the trauma of a changed family unit or foster care. The children will build skills, confidence, and emotional regulation capacity while having fun with peers who are also coping with a changed family structure.
